New York, NY — The 9th Annual Manhattan Mandolin Workshop featuring Carlo Aonzo will be held March 27-29, 2009 at 151 W. 26th Street, New York, NY 10001.

For registered attendees, workshop music is sent out and parts are assigned in advance. Attendees are expected to master the music before the workshop.

As advance registration is required, walk-ins cannot be accepted. Reservations are now being accepted and early registration is strongly recommended.

What makes this mandolin workshop special? Other workshops expose you to several instructors and provide a smattering of different styles. Some people prefer this type of workshop, but if you want consistent instruction and guidance from a single expert, then this is the workshop for you. (Two hours each day are led by Linda Binder under Carlo Aonzo's direct supervision.)

Carlo Aonzo, who is known as one of the greatest classical mandolinists alive today, has a deserved reputation for warmth, patience, and extraordinary teaching skills. Carlo is devoted to teaching and spreading his Italian style of mandolin ensemble playing.

Workshop schedule:

Friday, March 27:
Technique and Exercises (2 hours)
Mandolin Orchestra (4 1/2 hours)

Saturday, March 28:
Mandolin Orchestra (6 1/2 hours)

Sunday, March 29:
Mandolin Orchestra (6 1/2 hours, includes the final concert which is open to the public).

Mandocellists and mandolists are especially encouraged to attend. A few private lessons will be offered on Thursday before the workshop and the Monday after.

Because this is a very special event with a lot of information beyond the scope of a press release, we ask that anyone interested in attending to contact Chaim Caron. Items such as full and select day registration, payments, refund policies, travel and other details will be handled via email.
