About The Mandolin Cafe

This site was launched November 18, 1995 by Scott Tichenor. I'm a web developer with an interest in *nix, Apache, Perl, CSS, RSS, XML, Section 508, Google Maps and foo bars.

I am proud to share my life with two very special ladies (human), two cats and a very special dog in a 100 year old home in Lawrence, Kansas.

Shannon Skye Tichenor (right) was born October 9, 1996 and can get me off of a computer faster than anyone on the planet. She's my constant companion and a marvelous piano player. Having her invite me to perform with her at her second piano recital will remain the highlight of my musical life and easily tops being a member of the 1985 National Bluegrass Band Champions in Nashville (SPBGMA), a three-time Kansas State mandolin champion and lots of other musical resume fluff.

Annie Tichenor is my wife, best friend and a world-class graphic designer. If I ever manage to get her interested in web development this site will sure look a lot better. She's also a top-notch jazz guitar rhythm machine with a great voice to match.

The Mandolin Cafe was created and is maintained by human hand using vi, the Unix command line editor. Dynamic content is compliments of Perl, the little programming language with no marketing department.
