1924 Gibson Black Top Snakehead

Photo for Ad 179484

1924 Gibson Snakehead A in very good vintage condition. There is a good amount of wear in the form of scratches, scuffs, and small abrasions but nothing outside of the norm for most instruments approaching 100 years old. The mandolin is crack free, shows no separation or top sinkage, and no evidence of any prior repairs. The pickgaurd is missing and the tuners have been replaced with Golden Age restoration replacements. This is a beautiful sounding instrument that we feel exemplifies what makes these Loar era mandolins so desirable. On top of having a more modern styled neck profile, the sound is a rich and lush tone with more focus and balance than that of most mandolins prior to this era. The mandolin is set up and plays great in all positions with room in both the adjustable bridge and truss rod to set up to personal preference. Flat fretboard, 1-1/16" nut width. Comes with its original case with a replacement "belt buckle" handle.

$3,200.00
