Coombe A Standard - Tasmanian Blackwood (USED, 1997)

I bought this lovely Coombe A earlier this year from The Music Emporium. It's a fab mando, beautiful and is a really solid build (no surprise there!). Would be a great mando for playing out. Not only is the build solid, but it comes with a bright yellow Pegasus case with TARTAN lining!

Selling for two reasons: we just didn't bond (sad face!), and I need to make room for an OM that's on order.

If you've thought about a Gibson A but didn't want to deal with an antique, this is a great opportunity.

Has been stored properly humidified in its case (I don't leave instruments out -- they get played, then put right back in). Non-smoking household, no funky smells. I do have a dog, but she wants nothing to do with mandolins.

So here's the deal: I took a ton of photos, but if there is a view you need a shot of, please ask. I tried to note issues on the actual photos -- please check those out. Btw, the tuners on this are amazing, smooth as butter!

The case is an older Peg in good used condition -- I've given it a good wipe-down. It has little dings and scrapes, the cushioning inside has formed to the instrument. There are two places where the lining is pulling away from the edge, I will glue those down before shipping. Hardware is all solid, seal is solid. Overall it doesn't look like it was hauled around much.

Before shipping, I will change out the strings & I have a few choices. I will let you know the options (if I don't have what you want, we can work something out although it will mean a delay in shipping as I will have to order). When I change strings, I'll also give the frets & fretboard a little refresh.

Regarding shipping & insurance, that is at cost -- what you pay is what I pay. I can ship USPS, UPS, FedEx. Sorry, U.S. only. I am an excellent packer, from a long line of excellent packers (my grandparents moved from NY to NM shortly after WWII, on a lot on non-paved roads and not a single piece of china was broken!).

Payment is via PayPal, will pay the fees. That way shipping is easy, you automatically get the tracking number, etc.
