Very nice Rainer, and sooo entirely different from how I would/do play it.

Hope to see you this year at the you know where, and maybe we´ll play both your and my take. It´ll be fun.

Thx for the cool arrangement of that old chestnut..!
I couldn't agree more with regard to appreciating melodies when played at different or slower tempos...

Very nice, I need to learn this tune, I always liked it, for sure the way Don Reno played it on banjer.

Phenomenal picking. And coincidentally, just saw another great video of Mr. Rueb picking on a Waterloo WL-M, inspired by the other thread on the recent demise of the Waterloo mandolin:

I really like that first piece, and I love the tone you're getting out of that A4! Playing back from the soundhole must really make it jump out in a session.

Before I even knew what a mandolin really was, I came across one of Otis Tomas' mandolins in a bookstore in eastern Long Island. It was pure poetry in the hand, and I corresponded with him briefly as I was getting into guitar making. Thank you for the reminder. That bowlback must be something special.

Wonderful, Claudine! Very peaceful tunes for a not-so-peaceful time! Thank you for sharing!

Claudine Langille must be on the phone with my daughter all the time. Because my daughter - when trying out my Strad-O-Lin - allways plays in the "AC/DC" position (way back there, close to the bridge).

I must admit, nice music pieces (I found out years ago that I rather like Turlough O Carolan), nicely played on a nice mandolin. What´s not to like.

Thank you, Teo, you are so musically gifted! This tune is a great example of keeping the grove and steady meter going in a solo piece with a lot of variance in the pick strokes and timing.

Teo does it all, kind of like a baseball player that can play any position and hits in the manner that helps the team in any situation. I would add that Teo is a gifted natural improviser, able to spin out wonderful solos spontaneously in many styles. And now here he is writing tunes! Awesome, Teo...keep swinging, keep it relaxed and fun, keep playing great!

Skip had been a fairly regular visitor to Stonehaven FF in Scotland in recent years until 2020, playing concerts, holding mandolin workshops and jamming and it's good to hear him again.
