    Speechless and drooling ...

So funny that us mandolin players approach the m'cello like, "Ooo, the stretches are too much!", and Jake comes along and burns the barn down cause he finds it a comfy instrument.

Many happy years with that beaut, Jake!

What a treat! Mandoline music from across Europe and the USA played with zip and gusto (as they might have said 100 or so years ago from whence these tunes originate). The multi-tracked mando band backing comes across really well. Immense credit to Mr Norman. If only there was a CD to buy.

Beautiful playing! But what is that Fender-headed banjstrosity in the background?

Very nice. Danny sure captured a tasteful melody there with Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn composition "Single Petal of a Rose" that was composed in honor of the Queen.

Thanks Danny This is quite a gift.

I was there the same year attending her mandolin workshop. I think there were five students. She was wonderful and one day held the class at her house and served us tea. I will always remember it.

This tune 'sends a shiver down my neck'! Lorraine is such a fine player and interpreter of musical styles. I hope more young folks learn from her recordings. And here is proof that a mandola works very well in accompanying a song.
