  1. One more

This second one is a cover of Vulfpeck's Lonely Town.

  2. A couple new mandolin solo things.

I've been trying to learn how to play upright bass a bit. My technique needs a lot of work but I just finished up working on these two mandolin/clarinet/guitar heavy arrangements.

This first one is a cover from a Larry Goldings record that I wanted to learn the hammond organ for. My good friend John Posey plays a wonderful guitar solo on this one.

  3. St Anne's Reel

I've been working on this tune recently and thought I'd run a few takes for the internet. Hope you guys enjoy!
  4. John Prine - That's The Way The World Goes Round

    Hey guys!

I'm not much of a singer but I thought you guys may enjoy this. I was working on some John Prine this week and couldn't help myself.

    Cheers!
  5. Jockey Full of Bourbon - Tom Waits [Acoustic]

Tom Waits is one of my favorite songwriters, and I’ve wanted to do a song off of Rain Dogs for a while now. Here’s my take on his tune Jockey Full of Bourbon.

  6. So Long, Mario - 4 on 6 [Original]

Hey guys! I wrote this song a couple years ago with some great friends in Morgantown, WV, and we actually recorded it on a record. I was feeling a little nostalgic this week so I thought I'd throw together this quick arrangement. Enjoy!

All the writing credits of this 7/4 funk tune:
    Alex Heflin
    John Posey

  7. Goodnight Irene - Traditional [Acoustic]

Hey guys! I went after another traditional tune this week. Here's my rendition of Goodnight Irene.

  8. Nocturne - Spike Hughes [Jazz Mandolin] (#58)

Hey guys! I'm a huge fan of Julian Lage and I have been listening to his trio album, Arclight, since it was released. I couldn't help but cover his arrangement of the Spike Hughes tune, "Nocturne."

I believe this tune was originally recorded in 1933 by Spike Hughes (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), and I immediately fell in love with both his and Julian's arrangements. I hope you dig it!
  9. Hats Off - Mandolin/Upright Bass Duo Album Pt. 1

Hey guys! I posted over in the jazz forum as well, but I thought I would throw the videos up here.

I'm putting out a duo new record on May 5th with the incredibly talented Mike Gurrola on bass. Here is a live take of the record's title track!

  10. Fresh Prince Rap (On Mandolin Of Course) & Update

    Hey guys.

I know I didn't post here this last Friday. Moving forward I'm only going to post the videos to this blog that are more mandolin relevant. This is another silly transcription I did a while ago.

This Friday I'm putting up another song from a video game, so I won't put it up here, but I have another jazz mandolin video that I'll share!
