New York, N.Y. — Registration is now open for the 16th Annual Carlo Aonzo Manhattan Workshop in New York City, Thursday, April 14-17, 2016
The Carlo Aonzo Manhattan Workshop is a wonderful opportunity for great musical growth for players of all mandolin-family instruments and guitars, from intermediate players through professionals.

Carlo Aonzo, one of the greatest classical mandolinists alive today, has a well deserved reputation for warmth, patience, and extraordinary teaching skills. Attendees are unanimous in their praise of Carlo, and for the quality of experience offered at this highly regarded workshop.
Aonzo will again be joined again by his duo partner, Cuban virtuoso guitarist Rene Izquierdo. Rene is a world class performer and an experienced teacher. He graduated from Yale University School of Music. He is currently a professor of classical guitar at Wisconsin State University in Milwaukee and the Musical Director of the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra. He shares his enthusiasm with workshop attendees and greatly enhances our musical experience.
This workshop will be four full days devoted to mandolin orchestra. Exercises and techniques will be integrated into the orchestra sessions.
Each year the workshop plays music from a variety of eras and styles. The music encompasses a range of opportunities for musical growth for all levels. It is sent out to participants months in advance of the workshop, on receipt of payment, and is ready now. Pre-workshop rehearsals beginning in January are available for attendees in the New York City area.
This year's music includes two fugues from Art of the Fugue by J.S. Bach and a flute concerto by CPE Bach, one movement of a piece by Stamitz (1745-1801), a romantic Italian era piece by Bracco, a contemporary rag by the great composer James Kellaris, and a collection of beautiful early music pieces by Holborne.
