Mandolin Mondays #79 w/ Special Guest Frank Solivan

Rate this Entry
The outstanding Frank Solivan joins us this week all the way from the windy Grand Canyon! Here Frank plays the classic George Gershwin tune, "Summertime" on his very own handmade Solivan mandolin.

Originally from Alaska via California, Frank Solivan now lives in Alexandria, VA. After a stint playing with the Navy bluegrass band Country Current, Frank set off to start his own progressive group, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen. Since then the band has become one of the most prominent bluegrass/newgrass acts on the scene today--now with 5 studio records and 2 IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year awards. If you've seen them perform in person, then you'll know how deserving they are of those awards. Frank's powerful playing and singing always leaves you wanting more.
