Embedding Facebook videos into the forum

Rate this Entry
It's possible to embed Facebook videos directly into our forum and the instructions are fairly simple (our opinion).

In order to achieve this, you need to use the forum's BB Code. BB Code is a way forum owners across the internet allow users to implement HTML inside of our forum without the inherited and dangerous risks of allowing you to write HTML --another discussion that is technical that most of you don't want to hear, and is more than needed for this discussion.

What you need:

Facebook videos all have a long string of ID or identifying numbers, typically at the end of the video URL or web address. You need this number in order to embed the video. You can probably see it in the URL field (web address) in our browser, but if not, just right-click on a PC and select "Show Video URL." Copy that information because it will contain the video identifying numbers. On a Macintosh desktop or laptop hold down the control key and click, that'll show the same dialogue box with Show Video URL.

Grab the ID number and insert it between the BB code and viola! Like such:

Name: fbv.png
Views: 1516
Size: 1.5 KB

That's it. So you know, fbv = Facebook Video. Just make sure no trailing slashes, ie., / or quote marks like ", etc. Permanent instructions in our BB Code area which is linked to from the bottom of every posting reply area.
