Mandolin Mondays #137 w/ Special Guest Magnus Zetterlund

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.
This week on Mandolin Mondays we have a special guest all the way from Sweden! Check out Magnus Zetterlund playing this beautiful traditional Swedish tune on his toneful Phoenix 2-point mandolin.

In 2007, Magnus became the first Swedish mandolinist to graduate from higher education when he completed his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Today he teaches mandolin and guitar students at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. His insightful playing shines best throughout the work with his bands Nordic, Primus Motor and Malin Foxdal Trio. In 2017 the album "Salmeklang", Gjermund Larsen featuring Nordic received a Norwegian Grammy Award.

Today, Magnus continues to make an impact to the online mandolin community with his great free video tutorials. He will also be releasing a lesson of how to play this tune on his website in the upcoming weeks. Look for it here: http://www.magnuszetterlund.com/mandolinstudies/

    Welcome, Magnus!

He may be new to some of you but Magnus has been around a good awhile. His track entitled Waltz of the Dreams on our MP3 page has been one of our favorite tracks for a long time. Brilliant piece of music.

    Here it is:

As a mandolinist I am always awed by Magnus's playing, and as a man who started balding at the age of 20, I am awed by his always perfect hair.

    Just sayin'

Thanks everyone for your kind words! I am very honored to be part of mandolin mondays. And I´m glad to hear people are still enjoying Waltz of the Dreams. You gave me an idea to make a tutorial for that one on my youtube channel. Coming up!
