Mark Stoffel, mandolinist with Chris Jones & The Night Drivers, is here on Mandolin Mondays this week with an original tune played on his trusty Gilchrist mandolin.



Originally from Munich, Germany, Mark recently became a US citizen and now lives in Southern Illinois. In addition to his work with the Night Drivers, Mark has also recorded and released his own solo CD with some creative original mandolin tunes and cover songs. Here's Mark with a word about the piece in this video, "The tune is called "Shadowbands". It was inspired by the 2017 total solar eclipse. Our home was right in the middle of the path and it was just an amazing experience. This tune will be one of many I'll record for my second solo CD this summer."
