This week on Mandolin Mondays, premier classical mandolinist Caterina Lichtenberg joins us all the way from Germany to share some beautiful Bach played on her Alfred Woll German Neapolitan Mandolin.
Caterina Lichtenberg is one of the most important mandolinists of our time. She has recorded over 10 CDs to date, and has toured throughout the U.S. Europe and Asia. She currently holds the only existing Professor position for classical mandolin through the Music Conservatory in Cologne, Germany and is also the classical mandolin teacher for the ArtistWorks online music school.
She also just released a brand new solo record of unaccompanied classical music--which includes a recording of the piece played in this video. Give it a download here: https://caterinalichtenberg.bandcamp.com/releases
Caterina plays a german Neapolitan Mandolin made by Alfred Woll 2014 (Maple), and she uses Thomastic Strings (medium) on the G, D & A strings and Hannabach on the E-string, as well as a white Woll pick."
