Mandolin Mondays #283 w/ Special Guest Aishwarya Pagare

Rate this Entry
This week on Mandolin Mondays we're joined by the amazing Aishwarya Pagare all the way from India. Hear her play this beautiful Indian Classical music on Aishwarya's family heirloom mandolin of unknown origin.

Aishwarya is the disciple of legendary Cine artist Shri. Kishore Desai. He is the senior-most Mandolin player of the Indian Music industry. She's had the opportunity of accompanying him on-stage all-over India. You can check out them performing together in this video here:

Aishwarya has a unique style of playing the mandolin using classical technics and styles, and has performed at places like Gujrat, Rajkot, Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai. She has performed at the 3rd National Mandolin Festival at Bangalore, and recorded mandolin for a song in Marathi movie ‘Appa ani Bappa.’ All this and more!

Here's a word from Aishwarya about the music in this video, "The tune is a recreation of the old Indian (Hindi) song based on Indian classical raga 'Bihag'. The style in which the mandolin is played is very specific to Indian Classical music system. Hope you enjoy listening to it."
