Mandolin Mondays #320 w/ Special Guest Marla Fibish

Rate this Entry
Returning to Mandolin Mondays this week, we have the fantastic Marla Fibish with us to share an original tune called "Spring Forward" played on her Gibson oval hole mandolin.

You all know and lover her and her amazing playing! For many years, Marla has been a leader of the Irish mandolin movement, through her prolific teaching and recording. Since her last appearance on Mandolin Mondays, she's released a brand new project with Bruce Victor as a their duo Noctambule. The album is called Every Migrant is my Fellow, and you can check it out here:

Here's a word about this tune from Marla herself, "So, the tune is my own. I call it Spring Forward. And yes, it is slightly crooked in the B part ó there are a few measures of 5 beats mixed in with the rest which are in 6. Iím working on a companion tune called (of course) "Fall Back"-- but itís not quite done yet."

Be sure to connect with Marla at the following links below for more information about her music:

And as always, tune in next week for more Mandolin Mondays! Until then...

Happy Picking!
