Back on Mandolin Mondays this week we have author of the well known Mel Bay Complete Mandolinist method book Marilynn Mair with us to share a new original Etude from her recent album played on her Woodley mandolin.
For over four decades Marilynn Mair has played music across the globe, released two dozen solo and ensemble recordings, published four method books, written countless columns, and taught as a Professor of Music at Roger Williams University. She has dedicated herself to establishing the mandolin as an instrument of importance, for her lifetime and the future.
Marilynn is playing “Etude Violette,” one of the solo Etudes from her new CD, Silver Lining of a Quiet Year. The score will be published by Mel Bay, along with 60+ of her other compositions, in The Complete Mandolinist Volume 3- The Creative Impulse. Mel Bay has graciously allowed us to share the score for this piece in advance of the book’s 2023 publication date. So you can enjoy playing it yourselves!
