Mandolin Mondays #367 w/ Special Guest Chad Fadely

Rate this Entry
This week on Mandolin Mondays we're joined my Montana mandolinist Chad Fadely of the instrument shop Music Villa playing an original tune called "Woodford Downs" on his 2001 Gilchrist mandolin.

Chad was born in Hot Springs Arkansas, but currently lives in Kalispell, MT. He's been playing mandolin and guitar since he was in his teens and has made his profession in the instrument shop business for many years, starting out at Greg Bo in Missoula, MT and now working at Music Villa in Bozeman since 2015.

He has 4 solo CDs available at the usual digital download spots, and he also has CDs from both of his Bluegrass bands: Lochwood and Kentucky Sky.

Here's a word from Chad about the mandolin is this video, "The Mandolin Iím playing is a 2001 Gilchrist Model 5 #520. Tonebar, Red Spruce top, Sugar Maple back, 1-piece back. Iím the original owner. 21 years in March!"

Be sure to connect with Chad at the following links below for more information about his music and the Music Villa store:

And as always, tune in next week for more Mandolin Mondays! Until then...

Happy Picking!

enjoyed this immensely. i used to go the Greg Boyds site when i first started just to watch/hear Chad play tunes. he always has this smooth unrushed playing style and it pours out tone no matter what brand mandolin he has in his hands.

Fine playing from an upcoming artist. He should become a major star in Americana and bluegrass music.
