Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
This week on Mandolin Mondays we're joined by classical mandolinist Charlotte Kaiser from Saarbrücken, Germany playing a stuning performance of the Jiro Nakano Fantasia no.2 Op.43.

Charlotte discovered the mandolin at the age of five and made music the center of her life ever since. In 2023 she completed her artistic master’s degree with Juan Carlos Muñoz at the Saar University of Music with distinction. She is the winner of various national and international competitions and twice concertmaster of the European Mandolin and Guitar Youth Orchestra (EGMYO). In addition to her solo work, she's amember of many mandolin ensembles including the NOROC Quartett and others. Her debut album Poems for Mandolin was just released in 2022 and can be purchased here: https://www.charlottekaiser.art/bestellung.php

Bravo!!! Absolutely stunning! Not familiar with Jiro Nakano, but I will be moving forward! Love the finger-picking section; very sweet! A moving performance! Thank you, Charlotte and David, for sharing!

Charlotte certainly has mastery of the mandolin techniques. I enjoyed the 'setting aside' the pick for a quiet passage. She's a huge talent in the mandolin world. Thanks for sharing this video.

Absolutely worth slowing this down to 50% to study her fantastic technique. Look for the little "gear" at the bottom of the YouTube page and go to "playback settings". There you can choose normal, 3/4, 1/2 speed etc... Superb playing!
