This week on Mandolin Mondays we're joined by Ohio-based mandolinist Titus Luckhaupt of the band My Brother's Keeper, playing a mando version of the theme music from HBO's Succession on his Northfield NFS-F5 model mandolin.
Here's a word from Titus about this video, "My name is Titus Luckhaupt and I’m a mandolinist from Cincinnati. I’ve been playing mandolin for my band My Brother’s Keeper for 12 years. I was first inspired to play mandolin after listening to Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder’s Instrumentals album. From there, I started playing in church and then went on to create a band with my two brothers and our friend.
The song I’m playing was written by Nicholas Britell for the main title theme of the HBO show Succession. The song was originally written for piano, so it was a nice challenge to play it on the mandolin.
I’m currently playing a Northfield NFS-F5 model mandolin. This mandolin was build last November and already has a wonderful sound. I can’t wait to grow old with it."
My Brother's Keeper has a brand new album out called Field Guide--be sure to check it out here: https://ampl.ink/p65ZD
