This week on Mandolin Mondays, we're joined by Jonah Horton of The Trailblazers and percussionist Nathaniel Gilmore, playing their version of Weather Report's "Black Market." Jonah's tearing up that retrofitted Hondo HM5E electric mandolin!



From Wilkesboro, NC, Jonah Horton has been playing mandolin from a very young age. In addition to his work with the progressive bluegrass band, The Trailblazers, he's also made appearances on stage with The Kruger Brothers, Jerry Douglas, and many more.

Here's a word from Jonah about this video, "This is our version of “Black Market” (Joe Zawinul) as performed by Weather Report. I’m playing a Hondo HM5E electric mandolin that I recently had completely refurbished/upgraded with new parts. I’m playing it through an Evans AE300 amplifier with no additional effects.
