Mandolin Mondays #414 w/ Special Guest Aaron Weinstein x2

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
2 Aaron Weinsteins are twice as nice! Back on Mandolin Mondays this week, we've got two Aaron's playing the classic swing tune "All of Me," and demonstrating some material from his new Gypsy Jazz Essentials Peghead Nation course. Those 2 Apitius Yorkville mandolins are pretty great too!

Aaron is teaching a new course from Peghead Nation: Gypsy Jazz Mandolin Essentials. Designed for newcomers to jazz and swing, you’ll learn swing and jazz mandolin from scratch, with a step-by-step method for learning chord voicings, as well as simple, swingin’, melody-based solos for some of the most popular songs in the repertoire.

Aaron gives you a systematic, down-to-earth, non-theoretical approach to learning jazz and swing fundamentals on the mandolin, with advice on soloing and improvising geared toward finding melodic and rhythmic variations on the melody.

Aarons, that's mighty tasty - I always enjoy your recordings, and it's even better having more than one of you!

Great soloing, but it's your rhythm playing that really knocks me out. I hear a little bit of ol' Jethro in those moving lines within your chord grips. The Apitius really sounds great too.
