    Hi folks,

My background/cred - I grew up in Ford Co., and spent most of years 16 - 22 happily wandering about the Land O' Lincoln, but I've traded the glorious flatlands for the Hoosier hill country, and now I really love playing traditional Irish music.

Over the years I've had some conversations with Cafe folks about Irish music around eastern Illinois, and I've just found out that there are two regular Irish music sessions in Champaign, and I thought that some of you might like to know about those, and about other such events there.

Below is an excerpt from an announcement from Dear Karras, with event and session infos.

    Enjoy,

    stv

    Hi All,

As a reminder Patrick Ball will play at Heartland Gallery next Monday,
Dec 7. Interest in this show is very high and I know Jan has limited
seating available. Please contact Jan Chandler at Heartland Gallery
about reservations/seating. This is not a Piper's Hut show but I do
    plan to be there

I will also point out that the weekly Wednesday night Irish Music
session is tonight at Bentley's bar on North Neil near Washington.
    That goes from 7pm - 10pm.

There is also a weekly session each Sunday at the Blind Pig on Walnut
near Taylor that goes from 5pm - 8pm

Ah! also, to start your appetite for next year: Krannert is hosting
    Danu on March 16.

We are getting Tony DeMarco (fiddler) in April and other things are
    in the works.

See you next Monday at Heartland Gallery

    Thanks, stv

I live in Urbana and I had no idea this was going on right under my nose. I'll have to stop by the Blind Pig and check it out soon.
