Given the fact that many of the tunes that we play in Ireland today, actually started life as Scottish Tunes, I reckon some of you may be interested in learning more Scottish tunes & so may be interested to know that Nigel Gatherer has just started a new Tune of the Week board, on his Forum. Cheers Dick

A collection of tunes from Nigel Gatherer's "Tune of the Week" is now available with notation, chords, tab, and even a downloadable MP3 album. It's a great resource for learning Scottish music, for free: http://www.nigelgatherer.com/forum/s...ad.php?tid=728
Indeed a very good resource. and sincere thanks to Nigel for making it available.
The second volume of the Tune of the Week is now available from Nigel Gatherer's site. The deal is the same: a great PDF tune collection with notation and tab or notation and chords, and a collection of MP3 recordings. http://www.nigelgatherer.com/tunes/tow.html
Just for the sake of completeness, here is a useful thread on the topic from the main boards: http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/sh...s-for-mandolin
