Can any of you guy who have a your loar for a couple of years speak on if the sound "opens up" or changes any with regular play, like many solid wood instruments are known to do. Ive had my about a week and its less than a year old so just wondering what to look foward too.

i've had mine for almost 2 years - it's a well made, quality instrument - it can't NOT improve with age. different strings and (hopefully) an improvement in my playing technique have had a positive effect on its sound as well.

This is hard to say for me since mine is about as "un-stock" as can be. The varnish definitely brought out a lot of sweetness.

I've had mine (LM-400VS) since the first part of December 2010, and it has really come into its own. More open, longer sustain, and richer and a little deeper.
