Getting ready to upgrade from my starter Mandolin (Ibanez M522) ,looking to purchase a Loar 600vs .What are some of the better locations to make this purchase. I do not have a place close by to go and play one. I have played the Eastman but i keeping getting great reports on the Loar . Any help or recommendations would be great. Bruce Bice Meridianville ,Al
I got mine from Robert @ Folkmusician in CA but Big Joe in TN and Dennis @ Mandolin Store in AZ also seem to be great sources and would complete my short list. Not sure about Dennis, but Robert and Big Joe are (per their cafe posts) big fans of Loar 600 and 700 in the sub $1K price range. Budget for the CA bridge upgrade and save yourself the hassle of shipping it back to get it done later.
