This is a fun tune which we play occasionally with our ensemble -- we've just looked at it again after a fairly long time in which it stayed dormant. A tango written in 1928, and now mostly known through its use in the movie soundtrack of Casablanca. If others want to try it, I can post a scan of the sheet music. It's better with the guitar and mandola parts, but it's fun as a solo piece as well. Martin
This famous tango appeared in the movie "Casablanca", but was a big hit before then. It was written by Filippo Schreier and Aldo Bottero in 1927, originally under the Italian title "Tango delle rose". It's now better known under either the French ("Tango des roses") or the English ("Song Of The Rose") title. We play this with out group as a four-part arrangement. Here is a simpler arrangement on just mandolin and tenor guitar. Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin Vintage Viaten tenor guitar Martin
