Interesting! The Silverangel was much louder, crisper, and more present than the Eastman to my ear, but the Eastman sounded just fine as well. Might the Eastman have had older strings on it?
it has monel strings and not phosphor bronze
That would do it. I suspect the Eastman would sound more high end with the phosphor bronze, but for a good comparison keeping those sorts of variables constant is pretty important.
