I thought this was a traditional tune, but then I looked up Soig Siberil and discovered I was wrong. I had never heard of him, but apparently he's a well-known Breton guitarist who began his career in the '70's. Anyway, here's my cover and ABC of one of his tunes. Nice tune Martin, sounds wonderful with those shiny strings!
haha! thanks lurrtie.
Good choice Martin, Soig Siberil is one of my favorite guitarists and a member of the Breton group Kornog. If you haven't heard them I highly recommend you check out some of their music. Here's my take on it.
That sound great with the backing track David. Very nice.
Very catchy tune, guys! David, do you have abc for your vesion (the b part especially)?
Barbara you have Finale don't you? http://www.box.com/s/lb63u0afoqbu5oy9097e If you don't I'll write it out in abc.
I came up with this as close to what David was doing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=td5MNjrxnAw like David's, nice
David.... what are the chords that you used in your version?
Barbara the chords would be something like this: ||:EmEm|DD|EmEm|DD| |EmEm|DD|EmEm|DEm:|| ||:EmG|EmD|EmEm|CD| |EmG|EmD|CC|DEm:|| I am only playing root/fifth for my chord forms, no thirds, so that it gives it a droning sound. Plus I'm playing in an open tuning so think of it as double stops with overtones.
Oh this is a cool tune. It'll go nicely with the An Dro's...
David I love those chords in the B part! I'm learning to play guitar, and they sound good as full chords, as well as the power chords you described. I see you say you are playing chords on a baritone guitar... what is that? How is it tuned?
A baritone guitar is tuned anywhere from a third to a fifth below a regular guitar tuning. The baritone guitar has a longer scale length than a regular guitar and can be tuned in standard guitar tuning configuration or in open tunings. My baritone is set up for tuning a 4th below standard tuning: BEADF#B but I also tune it a half step higher for some tunes and up to an open C for others. On this tune I have it tuned AEADF#A
