So why are there 2 of the same string in each pack of these Bouzouki strings I ordered? I bought them to string my OM like a bouzouki in octaves. These just appear to be OM strings.

The J81s are for Irish-tuned bouzouki, with unison on the lower courses. Note the label says "Irish Bouzouki" on the front. You want the non-Irish sets for octave stringing.

Yea and I just bet regular bouzouki strings won't work on my OM.

Japhy, you can get single strings for the bottom two courses from most music shops, and this lets you pick the gauges to suit yourself. Quite a few players mix their own sets, same as a lot of banjo and tenor guitar players. I use D'Addario octaves on my tenor and this gives me two sets each time I buy strings.
