For those in the Denver area, the Sons of Italy New Generation Lodge 2702 will be hosting an Italian Folk Music Jam on June 8th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Lodge hall, 5800 W. 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge. The Order of the Sons of Italy in America is a national organization that promotes Italian language, culture and traditions. The jam is a way to build interest in traditional Italian folk music in the local community. This is the first attempt at what is hoped to be a monthly get together. Well the jam was a bust, no players other than me participated...I did get positive comments from people who came to listen about having music. Will try again July 13th.
My lodge holds a pizza night the second Friday of each month now. I bring my mandolins and music - people love the atmosphere I create, but still no other musicians...
