Hey Folks, I just wanted to see if anyone else had the pleasure of seeing Darol Anger up in Portland ME on Friday June 5th. I headed up there with my fiance and needless to say it was well worth it. Joe Walsh (local mandolin prodigy) hopped on stage for songs ranging from jazzy to full on bluegrass. His playing was so smooth it was unreal. I saw him last year when he played with Hot Buttered Rum but this setting was much more of a listening atmosphere. Anyone know what kind of mandolin he plays? It looked like LaPlant but it was tough to tell. I know Joe does some teaching at Acoustic Artisans (where Darol is now building, teaching? etc.) and if you are local and looking for lessons, he would be the guy to talk to. Anyways, just seeing if anyone else was able to check it out. Hope to do some picking soon.

Joe does play a LaPlant. Didn't get to the gig, but since Darol has relocated east, looks like we'll all have more opportunities. :-)
