Here's the next one in O'Neill's. This is The Priest's Leap, which sounds as if it must be very closely related to Saddle The Pony.
Lovely picking once again, Mike. You make the tune come alive. You are right too about resemblance to Saddle The Pony. But then there's the old chestnut about what is the difference between one Irish jig and another - answer: the title!
Nice playing Mike, both on this one and your previous posts of tunes from O'Neill's. Your picking is incredibly fluid.
You have a natural angle for these jigs, Mike. According to thesession.org, The Priest's Leap ist just another name for Saddle the Pony. This raises the question how long it would take an infinite number of monkeys with mandolins to invent the complete O'Neill's collection?
When I wanted to learn The Priest's Leap a few years ago, I came across several different tunes of the same title. And now I no longer know which one I wanted to learn. This one's nice, anyway.
