This week's winner is unanimous, and I expect many of you have already been working on it! I know I have! Indian Ate A (the) Woodchuck! I'm not sure if this is called Bluegrass or Old Time, but every video I found was of fiddle players (or banjo players) playing it WAY faster than I'll ever be able to play! This is what thesession.org has for notation. The first two sound more like Red Haired Boy to me, but the 3rd one seems to be what I find in videos of this tune. I found this on tune search for Indian Ate A Woodchuck (1) And this is Indian Ate a Woodchuck (2)
I see that this tune has already had an appearance as an Other Tune. Here is the link to that discussion
Thanks Barbara. This is the Molsky version, I think it’s similar to the third one on thesession. Come on, guys, why am I first? Slow as molasses, and not without mistakes, but here I am (headless) playing my Collings MT2O mandolin!
Brave opener on this one…to be applauded…
Good for you, Barbara. Never mind the "slow as molasses"; try "clear as a bell" or "clean as a whistle". Well played.
I like Barbara's tempo. You can hear every note confident and clear !
Really good Barbara, yes, nice and clean. Don’t be concerned about the tempo though, all that matters is that we’re all posting together!
Nice and clean playing, Barbara!
Impressive left hand pinky work, Barbara!
Been practicing this but I just cannot get the rhythm! Luckily I have a month to work on it. Decided to post something before end of weekend.
