Took the plunge and bought a McClung armrest. So far I like it - it elevates my right arm over the bridge so I’m no longer brushing or resting against it, and it helps me position the instrument. Added a photo to group.
It's cool! I have a Soliver one for my Strad-O-Lin and there's a funky old metal one that came with my F2. I think they're helpful, and have thought about getting one for my Mid-Mo mandola.
Looks good, TTT! I like using them. My first mandolin has sharp edges and an armrest makes it much more comfortable. Plus what you said about the angle you your arm. I bought one from Doug Edwards and a couple from Spencer Oliver. Both were amazing to deal with!
And Spencer (Soliver) was a fellow newbie when he got the idea of making armrests. He is certainly an official Newbie preferred supplier. Me? I have one of Soliver's one McClung from Doug Edwards and a couple I made. But I currently am not using any of them.
