From: A Briefe and Easye Instrution to Learne the Tableture to Conducte and Dispose the Hande unto the Lute (1568; 2nd ed. 1574); English translation by Alford.

This is a French renaissance dance, published by Adrian Le Roy (and in a different and shorter version also by Thoinot Arbeau in 1588), named after a girl from Milan. I have used the setting by Steve Hendricks, from:

Played as a mandolin quartet (mandolin, octave mandolin, tenor guitar and mandocello), over a non-modulating tenor guitar rhythm on F and C, emulating the tambour.

    Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin
    Mid-Missouri M-111 octave mandolin (mandola)
    Vintage Viaten tenor guitar (x2)
    Suzuki MC-815 mandocello
