Here’s a Yiddish drinking song, well the tune at least. Apologies for the crunching in the background, it was breakfast time. https://youtu.be/TLFuQHuMEx0 X:1 T:Eyn Mol Z:Jack Campin, http://www.campin.me.uk/ F:Jack Campin's Nine-Note Tunebook % last edit 07-03-2013 S:Klezmatics CD G:Yiddish drinking song M:C| L:1/4 Q:1/2=72 K:GMin BG DG|B G DG|:cc B/A/G/A/|B2 B2:| dd d2|c/B/A/B/ c2| BG A ^F |GA Bc | dd d2|c/B/A/B/ G2| BG A ^F |G2 G2|]
Very danceable, with a stomp again. The breakfast better be kosher, then...
Very, almost, always kosher for me. But the cat is the master of this house, Bertram. -I’ve really no idea what they put in crunchy ‘beef’ cat biscuits… My General Stomp Rule: if it’s got stomp then record it, if not then play it with stomp… and record it. Am working on some super-fast stomping Bluegrass pieces at the moment.
So, is it something to do with the music that makes it a “drinking song” or are there any words to go along with the music that identify it as a “drinking song”? Nice playing, regardless, Simon…
