This is a nice Italian waltz, published in the usual configuration for two mandolins and guitar by one of the New York City Italian music publishers, P. Tesio, in 1911.

I have recorded this tune as a mandolin quartet, playing the two mandolin parts on a vintage Italian bowlback mandolin, and splitting the original Tesio guitar part into a tenor guitar rhythm and a mandocello bass line.

I uploaded the sheet music to the Cafe when I first recorded this tune back in 2015:

It has been in our group's repertoire folder ever since, although not a regular. We gave it an outing at our meeting last week, and it reminded me of just what a lovely waltz this is, so I decided it's time for an update on my somewhat ad hoc previous recording. I like the effect of the mandocello on this one.

A Lovely waltz played very well…transporting me to Italian surroundings.

I do agree … I can imagine a real mandolin quartet playing this tune on an Italian piazza.

Fine tune and arrangement, Martin. Have you ever recorded and posted your group that you mention in so many of your posts? It would be interesting to hear you all playing together.
