Dr. Josh Turknetts "Brainjo Bites" never fail to get me thinking about my practice routine. Here is another one, hot off the press.

Thanks for that link, Hank. I have been extremely busy of late and my mandolin practice has suffered. I plan to TRY to be more disciplined as soon as I get past the current hurdle. I like Brainjo Bites and really appreciate people like the kind doctor (and you, by the way!) being so willing to help other people.

    That's a really good episode.

I think in particular that #1 is essential. While you're learning new skills it's also critical to practice old ones. Play scales, slowly enough to get your fingers on the frets perfectly. Work on new music but also review old pieces. Slow practice is great.

Thanks for the video, link, Henry. His book is pretty cool, too (though it could use some purely grammar and layout edits). Another helpful book I'm reading right now (recommended by Brad Laird) is Zen Guitar, by Philip Toshio Sudo.
