Very nice, Christian. It works surprisingly well on mandolin, which brings out the melodic merits and softens some of the bombastic nature. Did you use a particular arrangement, or your own ideas?

Thanks Martin, I used Franz Dorfers arrangement for piano, playing he right hand melody on the mandolin. and the left hand as the bass notes for my guitar chords.

You could arrange it for mandolin, tenor guitar and mandocello. The bass notes are often the third or fifth of the chord, so playing the bass line adds some authenticy.

An interesting rendition. I always thought this was an over-the-top tune but CC, you have made it enjoyable to listen to without all the hoopala that usually comes with this song.

Ah, 'Land of Hack and Gory', I remember the words to this beautiful tune.
Well played Christian, and ironically dainty when played with swing.

You're right about the swing, Simon. It makes it sound much friendlier.
