Have had this 514 for a few years now and after trying several different string manufacturers, still cannot get that hollow woody sound that I hear from other mandolins. Have a set of Infeld medium flat wounds on now and when going beyond the 12th fret the G string sounds as if you’re banging on a hollow coconut. Was going to try the GHS Silk & Steel regular or the GHS pure nickel medium lights. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
