A little late for this year, but annually, Pickin in the Park happens at Frisco Park in downtown Rogers, AR every Saturday night. May-October Bring your own box and play along or just a lawn chair. Highly informal gathering of people who just like to play accoustic. Mostly country and bluegrass.
Where does the Rogers,Springdale, Beaver Lake crowd jam in the cool months, rbird? I don't make it down very often, but there's some folks I've got into fiddle tunes with down there, and Id sure like to meet them again.
Good question! I'm new to board and mandolining myself and am looking for people in the area. I'd love to get together with some to just hang out and play some once or twice a month... Anyone interested?
I'm real far off the beaten path, folks, or I'd offer to host. SE Kansas is NOT exactly a hotbed of acousticity, but I know a few players. You name the time and place, and I'll burn a groove in the hiway agittin' there.
