WOW! What a performance by Mainline Express with special guest Jesse Brock last night at the Nippo Lake Golf Club/Restaurant in Barrington NH. A very entertaining mix of Jesse's latest numbers from his solo "Kicking Grass" CD along with classic Bluegrass numbers of Bill Monore, Flatt and Scruggs - even traditional instrumentals like Big Scioty. Gary Pomerleau was spellbinding on fiddle throughout the evening while Jesse's chops and John Miller's rythm and flat picking drove the tunes hard. Roger Williams on dobro guitar brought the expertise level for this group to heights rarely seen in the central NH area. Gary Filgate kept the group light with his comedic quips and his banjo kept the music grounded in solid bluegrass tradition with flawless ease. *A second night of performance has been scheduled due to overflow for tonight Nov. 29th - Don't miss it!!
Yes, it was great. Jesse is living in So. Maine now and it may be possible to arrange lessons with him through Acoustic Outfitters...I asked him for one and AO is where he gave it.
