that was great. scotland gets a good mention - i especially like the "bagpipe tuning." looking at the countryside, you don't have to wonder why the romans called ireland "hibernia."
This explains why half the tunes in O'Neill's Music of Ireland are analagous to Scottish tunes...
I especially liked the beginning of Part 3...images of the land's natural beauty with some poetic reflections on the music. Also, I enjoyed the attention paid to pedagogy--something I spend more time doing myself with my kids. It was nice to see a circle of young fiddlers all learning by ear.
