I'm getting kind of a tarnished spot on top of the tailpiece of my Lt-H4-E. Any suggestions on how to clean it?
I just use a little rubbing alcohol and that usually works. Unfortunately the satin finish on the Bill James tailpieces tends to pick up dirt and oil very easily, and they are hard to clean. The tailpieces almost need a satin finish coat over the metal plating to prevent the oil pickup but it would probably affect the way it looks. You should contact Bill James at axinc.net and he will probably give you some advice on the best way to care for and clean his tailpieces.
