It's a new year and time for a new thread to document any interesting Mando activity in and around Illinois.

    I'll start.

Come out and support you local mandolin player. No cover charge. Here's the details:
Black them boots and make 'em shine, 'cause it's The Wild Onion String Band's one year anniversary of playing at the Horseshoe with our good pals Honky Tonk Parade and Hank Sinatra Jr.! Nothing says "Happy Anniversary" like a nice $2 PBR tall boy, so please join us as we celebrate with a few new tunes and a few cold beers.

The Wild Onion String Band starts promptly at 7 p.m. so come early and enjoy some Texas BBQ, too.

The Horseshoe is at 4115 N. Lincoln Ave., between Irving Park Rd. and Montrose.

We go on from 7 to 8, and will be followed by Honky Tonk Parade and Hank Sinatra Jr.

Visit the Wild Onion String Band's website -> http://www.wildonionstringband.com

    Thanks for listening.

Hey there! Time for a another Wild Onion String Band show at the Horseshoe on 4/18. Come out and support your local OTM mandolin player. The Onions go on at 7 PM.

    Here's the details:
After a six week hiatus, Wild Onion is back at the Horseshoe for another evening of Old Time tunes and traditional classics. (Think Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?) We have lots of new tunes, Will has a new banjo, Amy has a new bass stand, Kristin is using this weird new pick Paul gave her, and the duct tape is still holding Bill's fiddle together-- that alone is reason for you to come celebrate with us! Pull up a stump, grab yourself a $2 PBR tall boy, and join us on April 18 at the Horseshoe Texas BBQ joint in Chicago-- Lincoln Ave. between Montrose and Irving Park Rd. Show starts at 6:00. Wild Onion goes on at 7:00 and special guests include Honky Tonk Parade, Hank Sinatra Jr., and Laura Walsh. If you're hungry, come early for some terrific Texas BBQ.

The Horseshoe is at 4115 N. Lincoln Ave., between Irving Park Rd. and Montrose.
