Well I'm new to the mandolin but old to the hammer dulcimer. There is one tune i really want to learn on the mandolin. I used to play it on the dulcimer but have forgot it, It's Am Comda Dom..(Not sure of the spelling here) .Translated from galic,it's The Brown Coffin It's a great little tune.. Another favorite I've forgot is Brandywine. Does anyone know these two?
Do you read notation? Here's something called The Factory Smoke, AKA The Brown Coffin on www.thesession.org. I haven't found anything on a tune named Brandywine yet, though!
An Comhra Donn (pronounced COH-RAH) the Brown Chest. I'll give it a shot...
There's a slip jig called The Drops of Brandy -Is that it perchance?
Here is the notation on www.thesession.org for An Comhra Donn, a hornpipe http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1636
