Here are a couple of tunes I recorded the other day with my friend and playing colleague John Thomson. John is on the tenor guitar and I am playing octave mandolin. The tunes are Joan McDonald Boes' "The Sweetness of Mary" and Dan R MacDonald's "Glencoe Village Hall", both Cape Breton in origin but with a strongly Scottish flavour we enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=ZD73NamUjOE
Lovely! Beautiful tunes, excellent playing, and very fine video production. Excellent. Thanks for posting.
Those instruments sound great together. Must be because they're sibblings. Looks like you two had fun John. I'd like to drop by and play with you guys. But, It would be a several day drive. And I'd have to find some very large waterwings. Gary
Thanks, guys. Comments from two fine players are much appreciated.
It's great John - I took the liberty of adding my tenor version on the "Song-a-week" Group. Hope you don't mind! Cheers, Will
Will, I feel great that you would want to put your playing alongside my own efforts. It's almost like playing together, in a way. Thanks!
