Dear Diary and readers Took my mandolin to work to show a few South African colleagues and friends what it actually looks like. Was ambushed by the boss and asked to play. Can you imagine. I struck up the first notes of Mull of Kentyre in G major. Think the boss was impressed. The other colleagues wanted to have a party with mandolins playing; another colleague, who plays guitar, fell helplessly in love with the mandolin. So soon you will hear a guitar and mandolin playing together a ringing cheer from the Southern hemisphere - listen to this space -as a silken cocoon of teamwork and togetherness is woven by the argent sound of the mandolin!
