Does anyone have experience of using Flat wound Strings on their Tenor Banjo.
I was very pleased with the FW74's on my Holoubek 'A' and would like to try something similar on my TB.
Single Flatwound strings from T.I. Would fit the bill, but is the extra cost worth it?
The Banjo is a 1904 Gibson TB2 with a modified 18 fret Mastertone neck, tuned GDAE,so length is an issue.
The gauges I would like to try are something like.......... 12 p/steel,24w,30w,38w.
Phospor Bronze would be my winding of choice.
    All suggestions greatly appreciated.
