These are two Italian folk tunes from the collection of transcriptions that has been circulating online for many years, same source as Simon's tunes here. "I Disertori" is a waltz which comes from the repertoire of the Italian band "Enerbia" (link), and has also been recorded on a duo album by Enerbia's fisarmonica player Franco Guglielmetti with piffero player Stefano Valla (link). I do not know if they wrote the tune or whether it is traditional. A transcription is here: http://www.folktunefinder.com/tunes/165901 I am playing the waltz as a set with an untitled furlana taken from the same collection. This one was transcribed from the CD "Balli tradizionali in Umbria" where it was played by Ferdinando Valcelli. Transcription here: http://www.folktunefinder.com/tunes/22562 Unaccompanied mandolin: Mid-Missouri M-0W Martin
Fine playing on solo mandolin, Martin. I like the second dance a little more.
Sounds great even without chords!
Thanks, Frithjof and Christian. No chords as the transcriptions don't have any and I couldn't find any elsewhere. I should probably try to learn how to come up with my own chord progression in such cases. However, both of these are fun to play solo. The furlana, being essential a jig, doesn't really need chords anyway, but the waltz would probably benefit from a 3/4 accompaniment. Martin
